About our Earth Day Event: The first Earth Day celebration was held on April 22, 1970, 54 years ago! The idea was to raise awareness about our role in protecting our natural world. Each year, we celebrate the anniversary of Earth Day by choosing a park project we feel will benefit and beautify the Township, and adhere to the mission of Earth Day. We then invite SWT residents, community members, groups, businesses, and organizations to volunteer to help us achieve our project goals!

2026 Earth Day Event: Clean the Stream & Tree Planting Event (Volunteer Opportunity)

Last year's Earth Day Event was a BIG success THANKS to over 30 Volunteers! We had members of local garden clubs, Woodlawn Fire Co., PASD Students, SWT Residents, and SWT Staff having a great time planting in the light rain! Thank you Lehigh Valley Live for covering our event with this great article! The beautiful plants installed can be seen at Covered Bridge Park around the park signs and playground!   

2026 Earth Day Event: 

• DATE CHANGE: Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 4:00pm- 7:00pm
• Covered Bridge Park Playground (2466 Wehr Mill Road)
• Join us as SWT Staff and Volunteers Clean the Stream, Plant 15 Trees, and clean up flower beds! Then, grab DINNER from The Sticky Pig Food Truck!
