PUBLIC NOTICE:
Covered Bridge Park- 7:00 PM EST Park Closure on Weekends is in Effect Until Further Notice.

In accordance with § 240-4 (Hours and Closures) of the Parks and Recreation Ordinance (https://ecode360.com/45796929), Covered Bridge Park (2465 Wehr Mill Road, Allentown, PA 18104) shall close at 7:00 PM EST (1900 hours) on both weekend days (Saturdays and Sundays), effective immediately and continuing until Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 7:00 PM EST (1900 hours).

The gates of Covered Bridge Park will close promptly at 7:00 PM EST (1900 hours), so vehicles must 
be moved from the parking lots prior to that time on Saturdays and Sundays.

The closure is necessary due to continued observed activities that constitute violations of the 
Parks and Recreation Ordinance (Chapter 240- Parks and Recreation), including but not limited to 
the following:
• Cooking and grilling along the banks of and in the Jordan Creek.
• Placing tables and other objects into the Jordan Creek.
• Swimming in the Jordan Creek.
• Playing excessively loud amplified music.
• Parking vehicles in areas that are not designated for parking.
• Vandalism of Township facilities (including the restrooms).
• Excessive refuse accumulation and littering.
• Unauthorized motor vehicles accessing the trail.
• Holding special events without a permit.
These recurring issues will be actively monitored and enforced by Township personnel (including 
Police and Public Works).

PAVILION RENTAL INFORMATION: 

Residents: $85.00 (all day rental)     Non-Residents: $300.00 (all day rental)

Our pavilions are a great location for all of your events needs, including Company picnics and trainings or Organizational meetings! The Covered Bridge Park Pavilion Rental season is from April to the end of October. During those months, you must make a reservation to have sole use of any pavilion. During the winter months, pavilions are first come, first serve as there may not be restroom facilities available. 

Pavilion reservations are ONLINE! See real-time availability and complete your reservation from the convenience of your home! Reservations can only be made for the current calendar year. Online Reservations for the 2026 rental season open January 1st, 2026. 

HOW TO RESERVE A PAVILION:

See real-time Pavilion availability, then make your reservation and payment all online, at your convenience! Please review the detailed instructions for rental and payment options below. Reservations can be made for the current year only. All Park Rules and Regulations apply to any and all rentals. DRIVING ON THE WALKING PATH IS PROHIBITED. Animals MUST BE LEASHED in the Park and all recreational areas at all times.

• To Reserve ONLINE (Credit Card Payment):
  • Create an account or Login to your existing account in our Online Portal
  • Click "Facilities" in the top navigation, then choose "Pavilions"
  • Click the green "Reserve" button to choose your date in the facility calendar
  • Checkout!
    • Print the Invoice and bring with you the day of your rental
• To Reserve by Check Payment (In-person):
  • Call 610-398-0401 ext. 223 to confirm availability and put a date on HOLD.
  • Rental Application and Payment due within 1 week of HOLD.
    • HOLDS will be removed after 1 week.
    • Payments in person must be credit card (manually entered), check or money order (cash not accepted).
    • Mail Applications & Payments to: the South Whitehall Township building (4444 Walbert Avenue, Allentown, PA 18104). Open Monday- Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Call the Non-Emergency Police number 610-437-5252 if you have any issues the day of your rental.  Enjoy!

PAVILION DESCRIPTIONS & LOCATIONS: 

Please help us maintain our Park!

• Place all trash in proper receptacles. 
• Please check the area around the pavilion before and after your reservation. 
• Remove any decorations that have been placed on the pavilion or the picnic tables. 
• Return the tables to their original locations. 
• Keep amplified music to a minimum so not to disturb other park visitors and park neighbors. 
• Your cooperation and help is greatly appreciated!

  • Take Route 309 north, turn right on Lime Kiln Road (Park Mart on left/Burger King on right)
  • Turn right on Wehr Mill Road, drive through the Covered Bridge, turn left into the parking lot.

• Directions from Cedar Crest Boulevard and Route 22
  • Take Cedar Crest Boulevard north, turn left on Iron Bridge Road (before the bridge)
  • Turn right on Lapp Road (first stop sign)
  • Turn left on River Road, then left on Wehr Mill Road
  • Go through covered bridge, turn left into parking lot.
