Get Hooked at the Annual Youth Fishing Derby!  

SWT Recreation's Annual Free Youth Fishing Derby is a community favorite! A section of the Jordan Creek in Covered Bridge Park will be stocked with trout and blocked off for this event. This is a FRIENDLY Competition Tournament, intended for Youth 15 yrs or younger who are participating to have fun and learn more about fishing! 

Thank you to the 120+ registrants and their family members who made the 2025 Fishing Derby a success again! It's always fun watching the young anglers fish and weigh what they have caught! Along with their free registration, registrants receive several giveaways at check-in, then stay for the Trophy Presentation immediately following the Derby. 2026 Fishing Derby Details, Rules, & Guidelines:

• Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 9:00am-12:00pm at Covered Bridge Park, Pavilion #2
  • Rain or Shine (cancellation may occur with heavy rains or fast water conditions) 
•  Participation is FREE but you MUST Register.

  • Walk-In Registration is from 8am- 9am the day of the event (5/9).
• Bring your own Equipment- Participants must bring their own equipment (fishing gear, bait, chairs, blankets...etc.) 
• Trophies & Prizes will be awarded immediately following the end of the Derby.
  • Largest Catch Overall
  • 1st and 2nd Place Largest Catch in each age group
  • 1st and 2nd Place Smallest Catch Overall
• Kona Ice will be coming at 11am so participants can buy a post-Derby Treat!  
• SWT will stock this section of the Jordan Creek for the Derby in addition to any stocking done by the state.
  • We have purchased beautiful Trout from Green-Walk Hatchery. Thank you Green-Walk!
