Community Partnership in Policing

At the South Whitehall Township Police Department, we believe that effective policing starts with strong community partnerships. Our residents serve as the eyes and ears of our department—observing, reporting, and playing an active role in keeping our neighborhoods safe.

Community involvement is one of the most powerful tools in crime prevention. By staying alert, reporting suspicious activity, and taking steps to secure their homes and property, residents help reduce opportunities for crime. We're here to support those efforts by offering guidance, resources, and crime prevention strategies to enhance both personal safety and property protection.

Our Community Relations officers are certified Crime Prevention Practitioners who go beyond routine patrol. They regularly participate in local events like Get Prepared Parkland, Heroes and Helpers, LV Autism Safety Day, and others by request. They also organize and support meetings for South Whitehall Township’s two active Crime Watch groups.

In addition, three full-time School Resource Officers (SROs) are assigned to local schools, where they build positive relationships with students, enhance school safety, and provide education on topics such as bullying, substance abuse, and personal responsibility.

Together, we’re building a safer, stronger community—one partnership at a time.
