MANASSAS GUTH COVERED BRIDGE CLOSURE – DETOUR BEGINNING MONDAY SEPTEMBER 14
 
South Whitehall Township has been advised that rehabilitation work on the Manassas Guth Covered Bridge is scheduled to begin Monday, September 14, 2026.
 
The bridge will be closed to traffic during construction, with work anticipated to take approximately five weeks. Motorists should follow the posted detour route. The approved traffic-control plan includes advance warning and detour signage along Lapp Road and surrounding roadways.
 
Two-week advance warning signs will be installed beginning Monday, August 31.
 
Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time and use caution when traveling through the area. South Whitehall Township appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while this work is completed.
